TweeMee twitter client for MeeGo and Windows devices Posted: 02 Mar 2011 03:08 PM PST Here is a quick video showing a Twitter application by the fine people at Intelloware which is still under development at the moment. It is being developed for MeeGo and Windows devices and was developed with a mixture Qt + Qml, Qml for the User Interface and Qt for the actual Twitter protocol. What hurdles did they have to overcome ? “most dificult thing in twitter client development is a choose app name, all nice names already taken” – Lol. They are “Thrilled” with QML and are looking forward to using it more in the future. Please Let us know what you think in the comment boxes |
nVidia Developers Needed as Android Slates deserve MeeGo Posted: 02 Mar 2011 12:29 PM PST Soon the world is going to have an onslaught of Android Tablets from what may feel like all corners of the world and theres one thing these Android tablets will not have on them and that is ….. MeeGo (Duh!). Yes Android has its pros and Cons and what we want is pure and simple MeeGo on these tablets and thats were the help of nVidia developers is required. MeeGo member Vgrade is working on getting MeeGo running on the Advent Vega Tablet which is a nVidia Tegra 2 based tablet. The kernel was released recently which has enabled him to build a compatible MeeGo kernel and boot into X windows as below: ![]() Others are progressing other distributions, ubuntu, from myhr1d, discussions here The reason that help is needed from nVidia is due to the lack of accelerated drivers for recent Xorg versions used by MeeGo and other distributions. Nvidia have released a linux4tegra distriution but this is based on Xorg 1.6 while MeeGo and others are using 1.9. Vgrade has asked this question in various nVidia Tegra forums but it seems nVidia are resource limited in this regard. See Here and Here We need access to nVidia developers so we can provide them with the tools and expertise to help them build their driver code against MeeGo. This would enable nVidia to keep the source code, build it locally and then distribute the driver binaries. There are a bunch of exciting devices comming to market which would benefit from these drivers. So if you can help the MeeGo community please let us know. |

WeTab to show Augmented Reality at CeBit Posted: 02 Mar 2011 04:39 AM PST The crew behind the MeeGo based WeTab Tablet have decided to exhibit at CeBit (booth D14 / 3 in hall 19). 4tiitoo AG, the company behind the WeTab see this as yet another opportunity to engage with their German communities in the Tablet Computer segment. In addition, they are going to be showing the diversity of applications for business and leisure enabled by the open concept of the German Tablet-Computer. E-Health Solution by myVitali ® myVitali AG of Switzerland will also show alternative uses of the WeTab: The system provides the fully automated detection and analysis of vital data on the basis of WeTab. Unlike the classic preventive and therapeutic methods the Vitali system motivates the user to actively and effectively take care of his health. A virtual coach explains the current and historical values and supports the user with amusing, although medically competent advices. The user’s doctor and contact persons can be integrated into the system: in case of exceeding pre-defined limits, they are automatically informed. The touch-screen environment of the WeTab allows a simple and intuitive use – without any computer education. |
